My loan woes are over and I have been sanctioned an education loan from Canara Bank.
Canara has a tie up with XL and gives a special rate of interest for students admitted to XLRI. Being a nationalized bank, I was a bit worried about the procedures and people at the bank. Surprisingly, it was a wonderful experience with the bank staff. They worked beyond their usual banking times and also expedited the complete process so that I could dispatch my initial installment on time… 
The whole process was done in 4 days flat!
More importantly, I could complete the loan processing from Pune…
